Chiclets keyboard request an adjustment period, the tester revealing that it failed to do so because of the spacing and arrangement of the keys. Its backlight can be adjusted automatically or manually, and it has no numeric keypad. The touchpad has a good size and good glide multi-touch is precise but its buttons are standard and noisy.

Proposed less than 1200 euros here in Surcouf, the Dell XPS L702X-8978 offers an equipment / good price for its class .

It has technology that Nvidia Optimus automatically switch between the dedicated card Geforce GT 555m and the graphics Intel GMA 3000 HD integrated processor as needed and tasks performed by the user to focus on graphics performance or battery life. It was to provide the best possible independence for the laptop runs by default on Intel GMA 3000 HD allows to read without difficulty including HD video. Optimus does therefore call on the Geforce GT 555m if a need for superior performance arises.

This is especially true in games, an area where the Ge-force GT 555m delivers good overall performance, enough to engage properly in many ways as long as under the most demanding of them are adjusted levels of detail and resolution of the screen.

The slab has indeed a beautiful space to display Full HD to be at ease, a definition that is particularly suited to HD video playback especially as the 16:9 format is well suited to this use. However, no Blu-Ray program that certainly disappoint fans of multimedia, however, may perform processing speed in the areas of photo editing, video editing or 3D rendering.

For this laptop incorporates an Sandy Bridge CPU Core i7-2630QM allowing faster treatment with a Dual Core CPU in these areas through its four cores, especially since it is supported by a great amount of 6 GB of RAM This couple delivers comprehensive services able to satisfy most users find that the majority is more power than they need.

In addition, this notebook is very reactive because it has two hard drives running at 7200 r / min against 5400 r / min with a total capacity of 1000 GB disk is significant to store many files and varied.

The connection is not left with Display Port, HDMI, Wi-Fi, audio ports, Ethernet and 4 USB combo with 1 e-SATA and two USB 3.0 so file transfers are made up to 10 times faster than USB 2.0 devices with USB 3.0.

Finally, keep in mind with its size and weight, this laptop is still willing to use more sedentary nomad.

The new Dell Inspiron Mini 10 should see their rates start at $ 299 with Windows 7 or Windows XP Starter Home.

Besides a Pine-view Atom N450 processor clocked at 1.66 GHz, Dell Inspiron Mini 10 will carry a configuration close to the current Mini 10.

Although most versions will be offered with a 6-cell 56Whr battery autonomy announced offering of 8:44, 3 cell battery 28Whr should also be available on the weight of the Mini 10 to 1247 Kg A 6 cell battery high capacity 60Whr displaying a 9:34 autonomy is also part. With it, the weight of the Mini 10 will reach 1.4 Kg

The dimensions of the Mini 10 are 266.7 x 198.12 x 33.02 mm, and are a 3 cell battery or 6 cells are embedded.

The new Mini 10 benefits because of a design review relative to current Mini 10. Indeed, once built, the battery 3 or 6 cell does not exceed the frame back or underside as is currently the case.

Other news, the palm rest has a textured surface which shows less fingerprints. On the side of the touchpad, buttons are always built on the surface but support multi-touch is more appropriate.

Contrary to what some hoped, no doubt, Dell has not resolved to equip its new Mini 10 an NVIDIA graphics chip ION.

The Texas firm says that we find in fact an optional Broadcom chip Crystal HD Media Accelerator for smooth playback of HD movies 720p and 1080p. The ION was rejected because its price / performance ratio has been considered less interesting. The Broadcom chip is actually less expensive than the ION and consumes less energy. Furthermore, play is not a priority for many who wish to invest in a Netbook.

Still later options, you will find a WXGA HD 1366

The chassis offers completely dust and weatherproof access panels covering all external ports, rubber bumpers, and a built-in carrying handle for easy transport. One area that Dell stands hand and shoulders above other rugged notebook manufacturers is the inclusion of high-end components, including dedicated graphics, instead of taking a low-voltage and low-heat approach. In this review we put the Dell E6400 XFR through a battery of tests, to see how well it stands up against other fully-rugged notebooks.

The D-roll, or “digital roll,” is what designer Hao Hua considers to be a “next generation laptop design,” as it does away with the book-like form factor in favor of one mimicking an artist’s scroll. Whether or not something like this will even be possible in the near future seems to matter less when you look at how much effort Hua put in the design.

Up above you can see the D-roll set up like a regular laptop, and it’s easy to imagine how portable it’d be all rolled up. There’s an in-between configuration that you could theoretically use to browse email quickly, and the straps double as places to plug in your USB devices. It also has a detachable webcam you could use on the computer or wear on your wrist.

Though it’s just a concept, it seems there’s some interesting thoughts that laptop designers could incorporate as takeaways from the D-roll. Check out more of Hao Hua’s design below.
