Named as Gecko Info Pad, it is claimed to be the cheapest version of tablet PC that ever been built suitable for consumers that have budget constraint.
Some of the key features have been cloned from its nettop version and one of the most notable one power include the direct support with only 8 AA batteries that can truly Demonstrate its ultra low power besides supporting standard lithium-ion battery pack to extend its battery lifetime by 50 percent. In terms of hardware specifications, Info Pad is powered by XCOR 86 Vortex86MX SOC clocking at 1GHz, a very thermally efficient processor that can sustain power envelope of 1.2 watts. Further back up with 1GB RAM, it is suitable for various applications especially those that require fan less and quiet environment in mobile computing. Some other interfaces include SD card slots, USB 2.0 host ports and 10/100 Ethernet and wireless 802.11b / g and Bluetooth (optional) technologies as well as some other legacy interfaces and all these are being packed into a tiny form factor equipped with 8.9 -inch 1024 X 600 resolutions touch screen module.

Retailed at $ 300, the machine will be preloaded with Ubuntu Linux Operating System and will be available in commercial market by November this year.

In order to fill the gap, Haleron, a Columbian based PC manufacturer has taken extra initiative to build a single mobile machine with two Intel Atom chip embedded into it. Named as Swordfish Net N102, it is powered by two Intel Atom N270 processors clocking at 1.6GHz, offering sufficient CPU power targeted for multi-tasking applications in both office and home environments.
With the solution is still paired with Intel 945GSE chipset, the graphics performance may not as good as some of the Intel Atom NVIDIA solution. But it took about six months for the Columbian manufacturer to modify the architecture and design to support both processors with parallel processing so that the workloads can be balanced between these two cores for performance boost needed at some usage models. Some other specifications include standard NetBook feature sets such as a memory 2GB RAM, 160GB hard disk drive, built in 3G WCDMA module, 802.11b / g wireless LAN technology, a 1.3-megapixel webcam, 10.2-inch LCD display panel and many more.

As expected, the current drawn by these processors will actually shorten its battery life and significantly with a conventional three-cell battery pack, it will only able to Provide 2.5 hours of normal operability for practical use. Nevertheless, consumers can opt for an optional six-cell battery pack at extra $ 29 for additional two hours of working time. Priced at $ 450, the machine will be preloaded with Windows XP Operating Systems that makes it an affordable but yet much more powerful NetBook in commercial space.

There can be multiple programs running and displayed in parallel.

Intel showed off a laptop computer with four monitors at the company’s Developer Forum in San Francisco this week.

Below the conventional LCD are three smaller OLED screens located above the keyboard.

The idea is that multiple applications to run simultaneously on each screen.

The idea for the “Keys Bay” was born after a study showed that computer users sometimes run up to 30 different programs simultaneously. Then it can be difficult to keep track of them and switch between programs, writes PC World.
Examples of programs that fit to appear on the smaller screens is instant messaging, email, weather info, calculator, music player and social websites.

Prototype which Intel demonstrated is equipped with an Intel Core 2 CPU and integrated Intel graphics. A few more details about the hardware did not reveal the company, according to PC World.

Looking like something right out of Mars Attacks!!! With its green elastic outer “skin”, the organic-looking notebook utilizes super-pliable Elastomer to act as a smart skin. The result: An almost durable yet lightweight device that won’t be toast if you drop it. The clever folks at Frog Design have factored in chameleon-like functions that include the gelfrog acting as a mobile mirror, a photo slideshow, a video projector, and even running a cloning algorithm that scans the user’s outfit and re-projects a matching and complementary pattern. Now we have needed to wait, when can we get one?
